📋 By downloading or using the Inthread app, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you") and Inthread ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Inthread iOS and Apple Watch application (the "App") and all related services.
By creating an account, downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
These Terms also incorporate, by reference, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, these Terms shall govern to the extent permitted.
Inthread provides an iOS keyboard extension and Apple Watch application that allows you to access third-party AI language models (including but not limited to Claude by Anthropic, GPT-4o by OpenAI, Gemini by Google, and Grok by xAI) from within iMessage and Apple Watch without leaving your conversation.
The App acts as an interface layer between you and third-party AI providers. We do not operate the underlying AI models. The quality, accuracy, and availability of AI responses are governed by the respective third-party providers.
Inthread offers a free tier that includes access to one AI model with limited features. No payment information is required for the free tier.
The Inthread Pro subscription unlocks all AI providers, multiple models per provider, voice input, Apple Watch access, and BYOK functionality. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at purchase.
All subscription purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law. Refund requests must be directed to Apple, as Apple processes all payments. We have no ability to issue refunds directly.
Introductory pricing is available to new subscribers only. If you cancel and re-subscribe, the introductory rate may not apply. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, with reasonable advance notice.
If you use BYOK, your API key costs are billed directly by the respective AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or xAI). Inthread does not mark up BYOK usage. You are responsible for all charges incurred through your API keys.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

When you use the App to interact with an AI model, your prompts are transmitted to the relevant third-party provider. By using these features, you also agree to the terms of service of the relevant AI provider:
We are not responsible for the output, accuracy, completeness, legality, or safety of AI-generated responses. AI responses may be incorrect, outdated, biased, or otherwise unsuitable. Always verify important information independently.
You agree not to use the App to generate or transmit content that:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these acceptable use guidelines.
The App, its design, code, branding, and all content created by us (excluding AI-generated content and user-provided content) are the exclusive property of Inthread and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.
AI-generated responses produced through the App are subject to the intellectual property terms of the respective AI providers. We make no claim of ownership over AI outputs.
You retain all rights to the prompts and inputs you provide. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to transmit your prompts to the relevant AI provider for the purpose of delivering the service.
⚠️ The App and all content, including AI-generated responses, are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
AI-generated content is not professional advice. Nothing in the App constitutes legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Do not rely on AI-generated responses for decisions requiring professional judgment.
We do not guarantee the availability of any specific AI model or provider. Third-party AI services may be modified, discontinued, or made unavailable at any time without notice.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Inthread and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) US $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Inthread and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit or transmit through the App.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device and cancelling any active subscriptions.
Upon termination, the license granted to you under Section 5 will immediately cease. Sections 8 (Intellectual Property), 9 (Disclaimers), 10 (Limitation of Liability), 11 (Indemnification), and 13 (Governing Law) shall survive termination.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco County, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration related to these Terms or the App.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide reasonable advance notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notifying you via email or in-app notification.
Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App and cancel your subscription.
Note: For subscription cancellations, please use iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, as we cannot process cancellations via email.
